How We Get Here

Jul 13, 2009 02:03

I honestly think Ronald Reagan did not
understand that his initiation of corporate
deregulation would lead to our current
state of betrayal by our government and
richest citizens of the trust and welfare
of the American people. The Great
Depression taught our fore bearers about
what happens when the super rich are
allowed to run a country. The regulation of
corporations was made law to
keep the rich from succumbing to greed at
the people's expense. Deregulation made
our current generational indebtedness to
relatively small number of supper elites
happen.

One of the most dangerous things we
Americans have been convinced of by elitist
social powers intent on our oppression and
exploitation is that: We can not actually
use our government, just as it is,
effectively. We are being convinced by some
stomach robbing rich sons of bitches that
we should not trust in our own democracy,
not necessarily any current government in
D.C, but in democracy itself.
That we should not trust in our ability to
govern ourselves as a nation's people for
common betterment. Instead we are being
told through powerful and diverse elite
controlled media that we should distrust
the idea that any government can do
anything well but make war. The next step
in this trajectory is to
demote democracy and surrender our power
over to the richest of the rich in what are
becoming corporate states in a corporate
world. In 1940 we called that Fascism. For
us now, like something out of "1984", it's
called Free Trade and Globalization.

We are also told we can not govern
ourselves by seeing what happens every time
we rally to march as a people to address
our public servants as to our civic
concerns. No matter which party we are more
and more met with police and secret police
investigation, harassment, violation of our
private papers and information, patriot act
legal but false arrest and search, We're
told this by being ordered to protest in
"Free Speech Zones" far from the public
servants we've come to show popular
interest to. We are told this as when we
peacefully march agent provocateurs do
violence to give gloated police forces the
excuse to attack. Protest marches can
hardly occur now without police attacks and
arrests.

Along with an actual and indoctrinated
decline in our people's expectation of
accountability and ability in our
democratic government to be able to serve
all the people's human rights and freedoms
equally is diminishing. We are putting up
with stolen elections, bad laws, and bad
government. We have been lied to, cheated
and lead into death and ... Read
More massive death dealing in wars we didn't
need to be in that are also being used to
take our rights away from us.

Why, if my apprehensions are not correct, aren't we, left and right citizens, on the streets in our masses against what is being done to us?
