I read this one last year and loved it! I've just finished 'Flight', which I need to post here. The tone of 'Flight' is more serious, but it's an incredible book and I'd also recommend it.

I love this book so much. It's one of my favourites ever, and I honestly think should be on school curriculums. It just covers so much without ever getting bogged down in the issues it's talking about or losing its pace and accessibility.

Oh, this is in my to-be-read pile and I'm really looking forward to it! I carefully avoided reading your spoilers-- thanks for making them clear!

Read this. Loved it, too. I hear you. The objections to the book bug me. One reviewer said the book was too depressing and therefore didn't like it. Well, excuse the marginalized for being poor and having a hard life. I didn't know that on top of everything else, they're suppose to entertain everybody. ((shaking my head))

I loved this book so very much. I was amazed how something so depressing could be so warm and funny and entertaining.

And this is why I do not read Amazon reviews unless I am truly desperate for feedback. Amusingly, I read this book, bought it for my nephew, and had completely forgotten any references to masturbation. lolol.
