My book 3 was Her Stories: African American Folktales, Fairy Tales, and True Tales by Virginia Hamilton. I enjoyed this collection, which is suitable for children and adults. B+.
Book 4 was Warchild by Karin Lowachee. This is actually the first book I started reading for the challenge; but it was much longer and more difficult to read than the first three. It is a beautiful, haunting piece of science fiction with some disturbing themes including child abuse, slavery, and torture. A-.
I have a number more potential books out from the library and look forward to reading them. I'll keep you posted!
