Lost chapters of Malcolm X autobiography to be released

May 23, 2010 12:24

Hello all,

This isn't a book review post, but I thought I'd post it on its own rather than as a comment to the last entry because I know several of you have read Malcolm X's autobiography and so might be interested.

The Detroit attorney who purchased Malcolm X's manuscripts after he died plans on releasing four lost chapters of his autobiography in three volumes, beginning within the next few months. According to the attorney, Gregory J. Reed, the lost chapters will change public perceptions of Malcolm X. The volumes include a forward by Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz and commentary by William Haley, Alex Haley's son. The first volume will be called Best Interests of Humanity and should be released within three months.

Here is more information.
