Books 2 through 4, as well as the last few from last year, is the Harry Potter series. This was the first time I've read it.
I resisted Harry Potter for the longest time, because I tend to have an automatic aversion to things like that that are wildly popular. But when I caved last summer and read the Twilight Saga,
tiemeinbows told me, "Aw, Jenny, to cave on Twilight and not Harry Potter? That's shameful, that is." :p
I started on the series in September, and read the first four books really quickly. Too quickly, I think, because I kinda Harry Potter-ed myself out and it took me forever to read Order of the Phoenix. But then I pretty much flew through Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.
As a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Captivating characters, well-paced plots, and surprises around every corner. The creativity that Rowling put into these novels is nothing short of phenomenal. The imagination, the backstory, the mythology - it's all so incredible. It is no wonder that these novels appeal to people of all ages.
Now I'm gonna make my way through the movies to see how they compare. But I definitely think that this is something I'm going to want to read again.
Oh, and as for my shipping preferences... Ron/Hermione all the way. ;)
