Been a while since I've updated. Wow. Short reviews under the cuts...

#7- The Double Bind by Chris Bonjalian

Wasn't a fan of this one. It took me forever to get through and honestly, didn't make much sense. The main character had a major twist at the end that just felt too convenient to be believable. Honestly, I hated this one.

#8- Eat, Love, Pray Read more... )

memoir, fiction, sarah, nonfiction

I love her voice. She's so down to earth but speaking on a very spiritual journey.

I liked Eat, Pray, Love too...until I learned that she actually had an AFFAIR with the man she was so obsessed with. Made me a little less simpatico with her. She is kind of self-involved and woe is me for someone who destroyed her own marriage.

I far prefered "Tales of a Female Nomad", which has a similiar theme, but a little less self-destructive protagonist. I did still enjoy Eat Pray Love, as she has a great voice, but I guess I'm just a little...judgemental? lol

Ha...I didn't realize that. From the book she makes it sound like the relationship with the other guy came after her marriage. Although I'm not surprised for how unhappy she was in her marriage that she had a divorce.

Well, that definitely changes my opinion of her as a role model but I still love her book.

The only reason I know that is I totally had to run to the internet to see the hubby's pov after I finished it...and, amazingly, no one really knows who he is. The lover has been IDed, but somehow the hubby has stayed off the radar. It's weird.

Still thought it was a great book too - but also a bit narcissitic after learning that.

Hello!

I'm a big fan of Paulo Coelho! You will love this! He's the first best-selling author to be distributing for free his works on his blog:
