Kath's #1 & #2 for 2011

Jan 08, 2011 13:53

Here we go! Since I'm taking a course this term, I wonder if my reading will suffer? Well, aiming again for the big 5-0.

#1 - Mini-Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

As usual, Becky is embarassingly dolty, but Kinsella has shown her heart time and time again, which always makes these fun. Really, there was very little plot, but it was fun to visit these characters again.

#2 - The Lost Girls: Three Friends, Four Continents, One Unconventional Detour Around the World by Jennifer Baggett, Holly C. Corbett, and Amanda Pressner

This is the memoir of three women who quit their "heading up the rungs" jobs in NYC and travelled around the world for a year. It is told from their alternating point-of-views. I really liked it alot, even if they weren't the best storytellers in the world (I would have liked more photos too). It did inspire me to pull out my old journals from when HP, Nei, Rebs and I did Europe at 21. I have always wondered if I could make something of those...Perhaps this is the year. I tentatively have Nei and Rebs's permission now (I'm going to be sharing the book with them too), and I've always had HP's (we talked about it years ago).
