This is a book about a mountain climber who nearly dies while trying to climb K2. Because of the kindness of some locals in Pakistan, Mortenson decides to give back to them by building a school. Since that first school, Mortenson has built several schools to educate girls and boys in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Mr. Mortenson has encountered a lot of opposition from both the United States government and the Taliban, but he firmly believes the only way to stop terrorism in this region is through education. This is a great book and I encourage you guys to read it. I loved it.
