23. Plutarch - Essays (English translation)
On various subjects, including how to be a good listener, how to handle the death of a loved one, and such. Philosophically leaning towards stoicism, but not quite being one.
24. Rilke - Sonnets To Orpheus (English translation)
I have read some of these before, but it was a good read.
25. MR James - Collected Ghost Stories
Good collection of one type of ghost stories, also revealing some things about the author himself.
26. Defoe - A Journal Of The Plague Year
Based on others' experiences mostly (as the author was too young to use his own memories for it all, among other reasons), this puts the facts into a whole story, using the author's real uncle as the main character/observer.
27. Ionesco - Rhinoceros/The Chairs/The Lesson (English translation)
Very intense and thought-provoking plays.
28. Cline - Ready Player One
Although I have never been a gamer, I could still understand a lot of the 80s culture mentions. Pretty well done plot, too.
29. Josephus - The Jewish War (English translation)
Surprisingly likeable a read on a sad subject, and I can see how this book could be a good source for people in later times.
30. Bellow - Mr Sammler's Planet
When you feel like an old turtle, looking at the whirling world of today - the same could easily happen in the late 1960s world, too.
