Holier Than Thou: How God’s Holiness Helps Us Trust Him by
Jackie Hill Perry My rating:
5 of 5 stars I read this for a book group with friends; it looks at first like a really dense read, but I found it really easy to get into. The main purpose of the book is to explain the concept of God being "holy", that is set apart, and the author gave a good metaphor of the idea of special crockery that is reserved only for important occasions.
I found this to be a comprehensive guide to humanity's realationship with God, including how all of us (except God/Jesus) are sinners at heart, and other things that famous atheists like Richard Dawkins and Stephen Fry might struggle to accept, like the fact that God doesn't want to cause suffering, and also the fact that if God didn't punish sin, then He wouldn't be a just God.
Definitely a recommended book.
