book 65: Eggs or Young America by Kaherine L.Hester
This is a book of short stories about working or "underclass" people, struggling but surviving through their lives. They are very honest and use a lot of analogy, like words with different layers of meaning, to add depth and dimension to otherwise seemingly straight-forward slice-of-life stories. It was a little close to home sometimes for me, in my current socio-economic position, and because all the stories are set in or near places I lived or know well. It felt a little haunting and sad.
