Short description: (Taken from the book itself. Don’t read the amazone-description, it spoils the fun.) ‘After centuries of bitter strife, the seven powers dividing the land have beaten one another into an uneasy truce. But it’s not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades and carrion eaters of the Seven Kingdoms gather. Now, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed while surprising faces - some familiar, other only just appearing - emerge from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges of the terrible times ahead. Nobles and commoners, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and sages, are coming together to stake their fortunes … and their lives. For at a feast for crows, many are the guests - but only a few are the survivors.’

Own Statement: The Fourth Book in the series doesn’t disappoint, that I can promise. Actually it’s far from disappointing, the story progresses at the pace that I came to love from the very first book, you get the details you need and you get enough different perspectives to not mind that only half of the realm is actually dealt with in the fourth book. Also you get your usual healthy dosis of bloodshed, violence, foul language, schemes, scheming bitches, secrets and mystery, dying characters and new emerging characters. I’ve personally found this book to be especially interesting since some PoV characters actually are meeting, something I’ve always looked forward to. Concerning the plot I won’t say anything, it would spoil the fun for anyone reading it. Though I can say that

a) the characters progress enormously, I came to love some very unexpectedly and came to hate others that I liked afore

b) there is a twist concerning the life and death of some characters that annoyed me a bit.

c) The scheming in kingslanding couldn’t be more fun to read.

d) I’ve never been a fan of religions in books I read, but A Feast For Crows is really very itruiging concerning the various gods you get to know a bit better

e) the ladies rock this book.

d)I will definitely purchase the fifth book as soon as possible.

PS: If you've already read the book and are curious what I think of certain characters, you can have a look at the entry in my journal >here<
