Hi! My name is David, and I decided that this year, I will try the 50-book-challenge!
I've never tried this before, because my life was always a little crazy and busy and I always argued I didn't have time to read 50 books in a year. Seriously, that was my argument.
Recently, I was saved from being homeless by moving in with chosen family (those really good friends who you love more than your real family, cause blood family is always nuts...) and they have a big house... with a LIBRARY.
Okay, wait- it gets better.
See, they ALSO re-habilitate feral kittens. IN THE LIBRARY.
Yes, that's right... adoreable baby kittens come in, are placed in the LIBRARY with nothing but books, beanbags, and catfood/box/bed type things. (At this stage, they don't know what the heck you are, giant naked monkey thing!)
Then you go into the LIBRARY... WITH KITTENS... and you hang out and READ.
Yep. That's the first step in taming feral kittens... hang out, so they figure out you're not going to eat them. Eventually, between handling them and sitting with them they will also figure out humans who are reading have WARM LAPS.
That's why I think I can read 50 books this year.
A LIBRARY. WITH KITTENS.
When they're tame, by the way, they are spayed/neutered and brought to adoption events- once adopted out, then NEW feral kittens come... IT'S A NEVER ENDING LIBRARY OF KITTENS!!!
(ahem)
Sorry, I'm pretty excited.
I hope to share books with people, and get ideas for books to read and re-read.
Thanks for having me here!
