I thought that chemo was a lot easier than in the old days. No one was sick or throwing up. The nurses said that the treatment room used to be nothng but patients getting sick...now, nothing. Maybe I was lucky. However, it did worsen my neuropathy, and now I'm stuck with a walker - at least when I go out. I also lost my hair, of course, but I didn't mind. I actually had fun with it and decorated my head. It was during the 2008 presidential campaign, so I was often a walking advertisement for Obama!

It has drastically changed my life. I was left unable to work, and work was so important to me. I was a bookseller. But, I'm making myself a good life now, and I have oodles of time for reading, so it's all good.

Keep up the fight! We will win!
