Title: Deja Demon - The Days and Nights of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom
Author: Julie Kenner
Genre: SciFi / Fantasy / Supernatural
Add'l Info: Paperback; 326 pages; Kate Connor, Demon Hunter Series (4 of 5 (so far)).
Synopsis:
Between attending gala fundraisers for her husband's political campaign, training her teenage daughter to wield a crossbow and a stiletto, pottytraining a toddler, and her increasingly complicated personal life, Kate Connor hardly has time to prepare for the impending chaos of a neighborhood Easter party that has her enslaved to dying hundreds of hard-boiled eggs.
Keeping the local kiddos in line will take all of Kate's skills as a mother and demon hunter, just when she'll need them the most. The High Demon Goramesh has returned to San Diablo this time with a full-blown army of the undead and a powerful demonic ally. Once again, it's up to Kate to save the world. Good thing she can multi-task...
My Thoughts: Rating: 8.5 out of 10
This was the most enjoyable of the series, especially now that the air is clearing. I had to knock it down a little, however, due to the once again rushed action(s)& explanation(s) at the end as the foe is defeated. My one wish for the whole series is that Kenner would but as much effort into the solutions as she does the problems. That being said, it was good book, overall.
In Depth:
I can not say how happy I am that Stuart finally knows the truth. Kate's indecision as to telling her husband everything was really getting on my nerves! I'm just sad that he found out the way he did. On another note, I absolutely love her ever growing support team and I am very hopeful that Stuart will become a part of it. Plus, although I know I'm asking for the impossible, I also hope that David and Stuart can be civil to each other, for the sake of Kate and the kids.
