Yesterday, I finished another book by Michael Pollan, called A Place of My Own: The Education of an Amateur Builder, which chronicles the construction of a small building on his property that he planned to use as his study for writing. The book goes deeply into architectural philosophy and practice, and that philosophy's breakdown in the face of reality. It was an interesting read, but a bit labored. On to the next book...
