Photos leading to a who-theme...

I had a dare with my brother. Still not sure who won it.

My brother, J, found this 'Johnny English' toy watch while we were tidying the bedroom. We had a bet that I couldn't turn it into a replica of Jack Harkness's wrist computer.

I bet I could, sorta.

So I...
hacked the buttons off with a craft knife.
I think Jack's wrist computer has a leather strap thats more brown leather then black, but my pictures were very grainy and tbh, black looks a bit better. So, Paint the plastic, with tippex as a base then with black acrylic paint.
(Heres the inside of the watch itself, compass and stuff, figured I'd leave that in)
I was originally going to take the straps off and replace them with ones I'd made myself, but it proved impossible as it had safety screws (triangular in shape) holding the watch together. So instead I decided to cover and lengthen the straps with fabric. I glued it to the back with PVA to hold it steady over the more slippy plastic of the straps.
To make the computer screen, I prised off the watch-like ring of plastic on the top and replaced it with tin foil, which I then painted with an acrylic/pva glue mix. You can also see there that I've stuck the bases of the fabric across the straps.
After that, I sewed on the poppers and made a sort of cover out of the fabric and paper to hold it more stiffly, and heres more or less the end result (I later added 2 more sets of poppers to tighten the strap itself)
Very bad pic of the back of the strap
Very bad side view showing cover
And this is it on, with the cover open.

And thats the reason I've been too busy to ink more drawings :D
