Pending my passage of all those exams, I am now done half of my undergraduate university career. The only thing I have to say is that the first half went by faster than I remember and that university is really different from what I thought it would be. I expect the second half will go by even faster and I have finally realized that university, like the rest of life, is just what you make it.

The one safety net we always had in high school was the fact that we were forced to spend our days there, forced to meet people and forced to interact with people. Contrary to what most people think, that's not the case in university. You don't need to attend classes if you don't want, you don't need to participate in extra curricular activities, you don't need need to do anything besides pay your tuition. The rest is up to you. If you don't go out there and make something of it nothing will ever come your way. Seeing that just a bit of effort goes a long way and finding the right people to surround yourself with (or study with) makes all the difference in the world, also makes a big difference.

The best part about being done? No longer having that nagging feeling telling me I have to study for something, and being able to sit there and watch as much TV as I like without worrying about it. Too bad it feels like I've thrown out my back though...
