my thoughts.
Firstly, haaay blue shirt/tie/braces, hay. Eleven was all kinds of face-punching, wrench-welding, planet-saving awesomeness.
And way to go Amy being brilliant. I was a little ? about why she didn't remember the daaaaleks BUT THEN I had an epiphany about that and I think I've figured it out. Of course I'm probably the last person to do so but hey, someone has to be last, right? lol. Well anyway, it adds up that she doesn't remember the daleks and that Rory's ID badge said it was issued in 1990. So we (lol we. I mean Eleven.) actually pick her up in idk mid-nineties? Right so she wouldn't know anything about the Daleks BUT what doesn't add up is the twitter/facebook/networking moment in the first episode. So I'm guess that is somehow directly related to the cracks in the universe. Faster evolution of technology or something.
Okay, and I have to mention the designer daleks. lol. love love them. I literally said omg colors! out loud when I was watching. lol. But yes, I am intrigued to see how that is going to work in this series especially since I don't have that much background on how they worked in the classics. I mean, I get the point of there are different levels or ranks but I haven't actually seen the episodes where this really comes into play. I know know I need to catch up on my classics. yes.
Oh and I tooootally thought for a second that when they first mentioned that a guy had 'invented' the Daleks it was going to be like how they brought back the Cybermen in S2. Which, yeah, that would've worked but was sooo less impressive than what actually happened. So yeah, glad that went the way it did.
Overall my favorite part was the moment the new daleks were revealed. Idk what it was about it but I didn't get the feeling it was just Eleven there watching them but it felt like all of him. The Doctor as a whole, every incarnation, facing down his greatest enemy. I mean I felt that Eleven was the Doctor straight from "trust me" but I think this will be the moment where I really believed it.
I'm looking forward to next week surprisingly. I mean, I pretty generally dislike River Song but I do like the weeping angels as far as baddies go. I'm interested to see where the story goes and how/if it links back to Blink, since that was one of my favorite story lines even though the Doc got a bit put in the background for it. I'm also actually looking forward to seeing how River fits into everything b/c from the way it sounds she knows not only Eleven but maybe Twelve. For me that's pretty much the only plausible way she would've known the Doctor if she hadn't seen Ten before. I guess I really just want to know why it seems like she's so important, whether she really is or not.
Anyway, all in all Victory is probably my fav episode so far...until the van Gogh one obvs. XD
