So, today, I foolishly started to play FF12. Clearly, the planets have aligned to keep me from playing (WE GOT IT IN DECEMBER AND I'M ONLY 8 HOURS IN. *CRY*) because about ten minutes in, when I had just remembered the story and how to play, Mom and Dad come home and go "If you want your oil changed, you'd better come now, because we're going ( Read more... )

Haha! French cars are pretty bad in terms of reliability too. At least some of them aren't shit even when they are running... They make some pretty nice hot hatches, although we can't get them stateside. Sadness.

Toyotas don't break unless you do stupidness with them. Over-revving the engine will cause any car to stop running. But they especially won't break with normal driving and normal maintenance.

...Which is more than what I can say about the American cars that have been in my family, which tend to just randomly stop working for no apparent reason. They just go.

As for part availability, most mechanics are smart enough to carry parts for imports as they're common enough. The parts really aren't that specialized. We're not exactly dealing with exotic Italian sports cars here. Besides, the parts used to service say... a Pontiac Vibe would be Toyota parts. After all, it's just a Matrix with a different body on top.

Or hell... buy a Civic. There are enough of them out there that you could walk over to a Ricer and buy some parts off them. You do live in Seattle after all :)

Ew, Honda.

Oh well. I figure my next car will be...cheap and running. Yep, those sound like good requirements. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a used Toyota. :3
