Thank goodness. Though I do wonder what kind of demonizing schools may continue to do to non-abstaining sexual practices now that they cannot simply omit them. Medical accuracy is a good thing, of course, but I wonder how many schools are going to try going on the virginity = moral high ground stance now. Of course, they can still use the scare tactics they always have, being that it is true that abstaining is still the only surefire way to not get pregnant or get most sexually transmitted diseases.

I also wonder if teaching masturbation is now part of the scientifically accurate curriculum, but I'd be willing to bet it isn't. After all, one of our surgeon generals a few years ago caught hell simply for suggesting the idea of teaching self-love. I remember that when I was in sexual education, there was this time of the class where we could ask anonymous questions; but the ones that were actually serious were hardly ever answered simply because either the teacher did not want to admit that she didn't know, or, in the case of some topics, they were too worried of feeling the retribution of angry parents.

While the bill is a step in the right direction, certainly, sexual education still has a long way to go, unfortunately.
