Something wasn't right in the city. Admittedly, something hadn't really been right in the city since she'd first arrived, but today things were even less right. Maybe it was just the fog getting to her, but still, better safe than sorry, she figured. It was for that reason that she was out in the foggy streets of Chicago, her Wayfinder lighting ( Read more... )

In the distance there was a faint ring of light. It belonged to the ring that encircled the head of a tall, lanky boy with spikey blue hair standing in the street. He doesn't move, watching the strange flitting between the two worlds of Chicago with a calm, contemplative face. Fugen didn't know how he got here, but he was hoping to find out soon, and if anything could be done about this interdimensional shifting he observed, he wished to help figure it out as well.

Aqua wasn't quite sure what to make of the faint ring of the light. But it was still something, and that alone was enough to make her turn her steps towards it. Whatever it was had to be better than the darkness surrounding them, and the blue glow of her Wayfinder marked her progress as she came closer.

Fugen saw the blue light beyond and turned to see the girl approaching him. He smiled politely at her when she was close enough that he could see her clearly.

"Are you lost too, miss?"

"No," Aqua answered, shaking her head. She knew where she was, more or less. It looked a little different than it usually did, but she wasn't really lost.

"Do you need help?"

"Well, if I could get some sort of landmark, that would be very helpful." he nodded.

"There's something strange about this place, isn't there?"

Again, Aqua nodded. "Yes, there is." Admittedly, calling it strange was still a little bit of an understatement, but it worked, generally speaking. Or at least, it did for now.

"It's called Chicago."

"Chicago," he repeated, "I hadn't heard of it before."

He didn't sound particularly bothered by that fact though.

He smiled at Aqua again, offering his hand to her.

"My name is Fugen, by the way."

After all the worlds she'd been to, one might have expected Aqua to know what do with a hand being offered like that. Unfortunately, one would expect wrong. None of the worlds she'd been to had seen that sort of greeting and as a result, the hand was left ignored. But the smile on her face seemed to imply that it was done out of some from of disinterest or cruelty.

"Aqua. It's nice to meet you."

He wasn't offended when she didn't accept his hand. She seemed like a nice enough girl.

"It's nice to meet you as well."
