Thomas Raith || Anything Goes!

[The city feels different, looks even more foggy and ephemeral than it normally does. Thomas walks through the city with the same certainty as in a dream, seemingly unaware that with every block he passes, he's losing clothes. First it's the leather jacket, then the shirt, then the pants, the boxers.]

Kahlan's Confessor gown billowed at her feet as she stopped in place on the foggy street. She had seen many a strange things in this place, stone buildings towering high, metal posts... Lighting that needed no flame.

But the stark naked gentleman just a block in front of her was, perhaps, the strangest of situations she'd found herself in in the past ten minutes. "You are aware that you aren't currently clothed, yes?"

Sure, the mud people walked around clothesless... But he did not look like one....

The fog seemed to have seeped into his brain, sweet and soporific against his mind. The question banished it, however, and Thomas looked down, then turned around. "No," he drawled back to the woman whose voice had shocked him out of his walking stupor. "But thank you for letting me now, sweetheart."

Kahlan remained perfectly emotionless, even as he turned around, granting her a full view of everything. It would be a lie to say that her eyes hadn't flickered down for a brief moment, but she kept them carefully trained on his face. "I figured that you would want to remedy it if you weren't aware."

His eyes watched despite the drawling, indolent grace he projected, and a grin tugged at Thomas' lips when he saw her eyes flick downward. "Maybe later, but a little air is refreshing," he answered easily. He arched an eyebrow, looking far too at ease for someone who was naked on the street. "Unless I'm inconveniencing the lady?"

Kahlan watched him with a practiced calm. She arched her eyebrow back as he did. "Not an inconvenience in the least. I was merely taking into account my new... surroundings."

The tugging at his lips became a full wide grin at her words. "And how does the lady find her new surroundings?" he asked, his meaning clear.

Kahlan's hand twitched. "A nuisance," she replied evenly, ignoring the true meaning of his words. She had seen (albeit corrupt) Confessors confess men for less than that.

If the comment was meant to rebuke or discourage him, Thomas didn't get the memo, because he simply shrugged again, dark hair falling into his eyes. He brushed it back with a careless hand and gestured to the city. "Fog does that to a lot of people, and this one apparently steals clothes to boot," he answered easily.

"Only yours, it would seem," Kahlan remarked. Still... The fog was responsible for such? "The Fog drew me here? It is sentient?"

It seemed a foolish thing to ask, but when she was so used to dealing with Wizards and magic it was less so... And Wizards, while mostly strict, were a strange breed...
