It had taken him longer than he would have liked but he had made it to the water's edge. It was not the ocean, that was for certain. There was something different about inland bodies of water, more tangible to him than just lack of salt. It would be difficult to explain to anyone, but he imagined it was the difference some humans might describe between country air and city air.
He sighed and looked out at the lake...and then blinked. He was fairly certain that was not a creature that belonged there. It was modeled after one of the ancient monsters of Atlantis: the Kraken. But it was not flesh, instead it appeared to be constructed from metal and gears...a clockwork monster. Kaldur stared at it, unsure if he should attempt to go investigate it or not. It did not seem to be causing any harm and was just rising from the lake in all of it's tentacled glory.
"This place is so strange."
