I can't believe it's already November 21-wasn't Halloween yesterday? Why are the stores playing Christmas music already? At this rate, I'll be sick of the holiday music before Thanksgiving! Not to mention that we had our school holiday party this week. It was weird going to a "Christmas" party when it was sixty degrees outside (New England generally isn't that warm this time of year).

Haven't had the time to update lately-life has been busy (and not necessarily the fun kind of busy). Some of the fun things: one of my brothers was an extra in a local production of Aida. What a mind-bender to see him wear a chiton - even if it was from the third balcony.

This week I saw The Mystery of Irma Vep, a comedy send-up of Hitchcock's version of DuMaurier's Rebecca and gothic novels in general. It had a vampire & a mummy (sort of), and a werewolf (definitely a werewolf), and all the parts are played by two men. The wardrobe people must've been working their asses off backstage. And I'm such a Xander fan that I wondered if someone had already written a crossover story between Buffy and Irma Vep. (If anyone knows, please send me the URL!).

Went outlet shopping, and found a wonderful dress that drapes beautifully, but I can't wear it until the spring (another reason to hate winter).

And for the second week in a row, a recipe I improvised flopped completly. Next weekend, I'm sticking with the tried and true - especially for the requisite Christmas cookies.

Wishing everyone plenty of turkey & your favorite stuffing on Thanksgiving.
