When I first heard about the reunion(the week I graduated) I thought it would be lame for all the people that graduated this Century; I was wrong. My class was really well represented, all things considered; I think 1 in 4 showed up o at least one of the events.
Missed the lits on thursday because I went to the Bomber game, apparently it was good. Neither Jeff or I was asked to participate in the Can Can, PCIs oldest tradition, because of what happened when we were involved in grade 12; Apparently me betting Jeff 50 Bucks that he WOULDN'T moon the school, and then having him do it during the 80 year tradition, is frowned upon.
Friday night was awesome. Me, Jeff, Stacy, Kristen, Ryan, Chris, Bev and Jenna sat around in the basement and predrank before heading off to the Decades Dance. Because the PCI reunion was so huge (everybody who graduated from PCI and was still alive was invited) they decided to split the groups up by decade. Our 5 years were added to the 90s and we had the only airconditioned place lol. There was 23 from the class of 2000 there, easily making us the biggest group; Jenna's '02 class had 7.
We drank there for about 2 hours before heading out on the bus to check out the other parties. We went across town to the 60s, then down to the arena for the 70s, where al our parents were. The parents were off the charts. Dad was drunk, mom was extra talkitive, Uncle Dale ended up in tears with Jenna when they were talking about old times. It was hillarious. Chris is in for a surprise when he sees the pic of him and his parents. I snuck into the background and flashed the camera. haha, I don't think he's going to be able to show that one to them.
The night ended at the 80s dance where Jenna told our old Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher that she was "The hottest thing any Junior High guy had ever seen"; my sister the lush. We danced and screamed out the words to "Rebel Yell" by Bill Idol. By the end of the night everybody was just soaked in sweat and various booze.
Saturday night it was back to the basement for predrinking. Christy, Nick, Phil, Daniel, and Jeff and Bev's Uncle Jim all joined us. Uncle Jim is a weird guy. I hadn't known him for more than 5 mins before he decided that he was going to punch me in the face. Not really a playful punch either, it was about half force right in the middle of the forehead. Not sure why he did it, but I was already half in the bag by that point. It was followed by him hitting on Jenna and then punching me in the forehead again. F-You was played, one of the rules being that you had to insult Jenna before taking a drink; that's probably my new favorite rule.
We get to the social and this thing is huge, about 2500 people strong. The room is just packed, especially right in front of the bar. It wasn't planned out well by CanadInns because there were only 4 bartenders for 2500 people and only one bar. The line was about 8 people wide and 100 people deep. I had to get 4 beer when I went up the first time because there was no way I was going to be standing in that line anymore than I had to. The tally for the night was 10 beer at Jeff's and 6 at the Social. Not bad, but it ended wuth me puking next to the port-a-johns(I got called on it later that night by a girl that I didn't know when I as talking to a guy from my class).
I was in fine form by the end of the night. I think by the time they were playing the finals songs, I was dancing like Natives do at a pow-wow. Thinking back, I probably look like an idiot- head bobbing up and down, hopping from foot to foot, shuffling through my drunken stupor- but I thought it was a good idea at the time.
Getting home Jeff's stepdad Randy was driving everybody home. There was me, Jeff, Stacy, Kristen, Brad, Jeff's Mom, Jeff's Grandma, and his Uncle Jim. I drew the short straw and had to go home with the old folks. We get to the car and I'm in the back seat. I'm sitting next to Jeff's Grandma and accidently grope her ass while I'm trying to find my seat belt. She annonces to the car that 'Jeff's friend is trying to feel me up' and I again get punched in the face by Uncle Jim for 'getting fresh with his mom'. Fun times.
Pretty much a solid saturday night for me. I was glad the Reunion happened, even if it was 5 years before I should be having one. Go Trojans!
