a new guitar was just what the doctor ordered...I am a musician, but I have noticed something in myself of late and it has now been made clear...over the past years I gradually found less and less time to actually play music in addition to the music I listened to and appreciated...I was distracted by all of the cares of everyday life that get in the way of important things that pertain to life outside of the everyday...sadly I haven't written a song since my last band broke up...and when you stop to think about the importance of that sentence, a lot of things start making sense...
a song, to me, is a series of notes and/or chords played on a musical instrument (of some kind) in a manner that is remembered and played again...we have voices that are capable of producing sound and so our bodies can be considered musical instruments...but along with human voice comes a whole new dimension of thoughts and ideas that are conveyed in poetic forms of communication known as lyrics...lyrics are composed of the most powerful tool known to man, his word...with words people can decipher into their own personal lives and the music to carry the message and feel of the artist's life, a song is the way to clear emotions from your mind...for both the listener and the artist...with that much power, a song is capable of changing the world...perhaps just some small part, or maybe it will take over your way of life...I believe that a song written from the heart, no matter how good or bad, is the most powerful weapon we are capable of weilding
writing music is like sunlight to a plant and I've been sitting in the shade...here comes the sun and let the storms of The Tempest ravish this lazy and distracted mind and build songs that will change my life for the better...each note played is a prayer that it be heard...and if I play it loud enough, someone might hear it and sing a song of their own in response to mine, just like wolves howling deep into the night from different sides of a mountain to tell each other the things they see...thus helping everyone progress
never stop playing music...its more important than food!
