that first bike I got was having shifting problems...plus it was kinda small...but my new bike kicks ass! me and justin have been cruising around our nieghborhoods and through the random patches of desert the past couple days...its tiring but its so much better than video games! you feel more alive...I like this whole 'active lifestyle' thing...haha
no luck on a job yet...I've been trying and so far it's getting me nowhere...bah! the worst part is, most of the places that haven't hired me still have 'now hiring' signs all over...but oh well, I'll keep trying...
we took our first set of paintings down to the world market center yesterday and they are now for sale and on display in Ariel Art, showroom A124...we are very excited because this is just the first step of becoming artists...we found out how to do something that we enjoy doing and we now have those things hanging up on the wall of a gallery where people who enjoy art can admire it and maybe even want to take it home with them to hang on their wall so that they can enjoy it daily...what job could I possibly do that would be more satisfying than knowing I made something that puts joy and thought into someone else's mind? I recently realized that artists and musicians are pretty much the exact same thing...I don't know why it took me so long to make the connection...I guess I had to become an artist myself to understand it...and now that I've taken up painting, which is most commonly associated in my mind with art, I've realized that everything you do in life is an art form in one way or another...training your body to move certain ways to match the thoughts you've planned out for yourself...I'm talking everything...the way you tie your shoes, the way you smoke cigarettes, every little movement of your body in the way you dance, the way you sing, the way you climb up a mountain, the way you read books, the way you learn, the way you communicate with others, the way you eat, the way you drink, the way you laugh, the way you love, the way you live.
I say if you are alive, you are an artist. my paint brush used to be a rake at the golf course I worked at in high school...I was always the slowest one at stacking wood in the shop I used to work in because I would try so hard to make all the pieces straight even though I knew that it really didn't matter that much...I couldn't help it haha...the point is, there is joy in art...the kind of joy that can only be understood by the artist himself...lets all start enjoying the things we do and do them the best we can...I don't care if you make hamburgers in a mcdonalds or if you practice law in some fancy court room...do a hella good job at it...if you try your best at everything you do, you will never be let down regardless of if you succeed or not...peace, love, and art will one day take over the world...
