The Forest of Unicorns

I feel pretty bad that I've been in such a bad mood this past week but I decided that was all going to change today. And I think it did. I've spent the last two weeks at school not actually making any art (and I have to do some for class!!!!!!!!)
I've felt pretty uninspired, but today it was my goal to find something to inspire me, drink some expensive tea and reflect.
I met this adorable girl that goes to my school at this kind of stuffy tea house. It seemed like the place where middle aged women would thrive, drinking tea, knitting and meeting for book clubs. Almost all of the "country" interior decorations were for sale. We shared this pot of "jammy" tea which the taste sticks in the back of your throat for hours afterward.

So we started talking and she told me about this forest that was only like a mile away. So excited I decided to walk over. And ran into her in the ravine around the creek. Everything is covered in limestone and it's all very old. There are old limestone stairs that are falling apart and sliding into the water, there's cut graffiti into huge rocks of crosses and hearts and dates like "1904". There's walls of stone and a strange circle or broken branches around a kind of amphitheater of painted rocks and one blue on in the middle. She told me she found rope and dried crow parts there before, probably remains of some pagan ritual.

In other words my day went exactly as planned.
