Daphne

I have a weak, undeveloped plot here.

Time - either reniassance, 18th or 19th century

Daphne - peasant, submissive, shy, vulnerable, hard worker, insecure, fabulous artist.

Taken into highclass society when artistic ablitites are discovered. Paints portraits of many important social and political figures.

*special note---she's never seen herself...no mirrors ever have crossed her path. I'm not sure how I'm suppose to pull this one off*

She is deathly afraid of being ugly and sure that she is yadda yadda yadda...

Love interest, or just good friend( no kissing or anything to muddle the story), convinces her to paint a self-portrait. She agrees only under the terms that no one watches or comments on her work.

The painting is a complete likeness. "So you've finally seen a mirror." Oh no. She'll have none of that. She felt her face with her fingers and painted what she felt.

Uh...yeah.
