Haha so I bought a harness and leash for Sadie yesterday, and it's definitely gonna take a lot of getting used to. The problem is that no matter how much I tighten the harness it's still too big because she's just so tiny... soooo while she's not supposed to be able to, she can get with her mouth and bite it, and then she proceeds to get her lower jaw stuck and is running around like a schmo trying to figure out what's wrong. Hahahaha... silly girl. She def looks cute though... I'll have to take some pics and put 'em up on the photobucket website.
PS, I def think babysitters should ask if you prefer to get paid in cash or check, b/c when you have to pay rent and bills, cash is pretty much useless... I appreciate the whole no taxes thing, but come on people, I need to deposit that shit and I just never think to deposit cash.
Yeah just an update on my summer so far:
1) Living in my new beautiful apartment with Allan, Brian, Elmo, and Sadie. It's a two bedroom, one bath, tee tiny place... yeah so it's kinda crowded. Hey, I love it! It's cozy!
2) Working on campus 20 hours a week from 9-1 every week day and getting WAY overpaid for it hahahaha.
3) Babysitting almost every afternoon/evening for four different families... and getting quite confused by the situation, but in Richmond the going rate for babysitters is $12/hr, so I'm not complaining!
4) Trying to train and do good by my new puppy, Sadie. Allan tries to help, but he just gets so frustrated and doesn't understand that puppies bite... it's just what they do, you can't hold it against them and say they're out to get your or purposely being bad or something. Brian pretty much just thinks she's the devil, but then again he thinks everything that's not him is the devil, haha. Poor Elmo, he's just no longer safe on the floor... he has to get around by climbing over the furniture because Sadie just loves chasing him too much. Again, something she's too young to undertand not to do.
5) Went home last weekend for the holiday, and was SO happy everyone could meet Sadie as a puppy and even happier that Sadie was able to meet Misty before she leaves us. I promised myself that if I got a puppy this summer, I would do whatever it took to make sure that puppy met Misty, the greatest dog there could ever be. I overheard my parents talking about putting Misty down within the next few weeks, but everytime they think she can't go on, she gets a spurt of energy and acts like her old self for a day. How can you let something like that go? God she's so skinny though. She's down almost 40 pounds now from what she was 2 years ago. She's having trouble walking and has completely stopped eating her dog food. She still seems happy though, and does the best she can. I love that dog so much. And poor Buddy... this will be the second (well technically third, but Becky doesn't really count) best friend he will have to go through losing. We're really worried about what will happen once he realizes she's gone. I've heard of dogs dying of broken hearts, and with him being now 14 and losing him senses I'm really worried that his little body just might not be able to take the stress.
I predict that this is gonna be the hardest summer of my life in more ways than one, but that I will have grown so much from it and will truly be a stronger and better person.
Peace, love, and happy dogging.
