UR had an absolutely beautiful vigil tonight for the victims of yesterday's tragedy at VT. It ended with a really breathtaking luminary ceremony in the Forum. (Our chapel is one of many buildings located around the Forum. The Forum is basically this giant circle open area in the middle of campus that certain speeches and what not take place in. Every single student walks through this area, which is I'd say is about 100 feet in diameter (although I'm really bad with measurements), multiple times a day.) So anyway, tonight they put the luminaries (the little white paper bags with candles) in the middle of the Forum in the formation of the VT letters symbol. You know, like where it's connected at the top and slightly slanted. It was just so powerful, and the only thing I had on me was my camera phone so I stretched up as tall as I could and took a picture of it (before it was lit). If I was smart enough to know how to get a picture off of my cell phone and onto the computer, I would do it so ya'll could see. Buuuut I don't know how to do that, and I'm sure you can imagine for yourselves what it was like, and probably had similar ceremonies at your school.
I just wanted to remind all the friends and families of those fallen that the University of Richmond is thinking about you and praying for you, our fellow Virginia collegians. =)
