Just for the record...
Right now I really loathe the medical beaurocracy with all its legal butt-covering and its 'tell the same story six billion times and you might be lucky enough to find someone willing to risk making an actual judgement call' stupidity...

K is not only walking, she is RUNNING on flat ground, and climbing all over everything she can the minute D or I turn our back on her. I swear she thinks that gravity isn't so much mandatory as it is just a strongly worded suggestion... All things considered she's making awesome progress in her gross motor skills - though she's prone to falling over from going too fast when she gets excited, and stairs and uneven ground tend to freak her out...even with her glasses. They're gonna work on that in her upcoming PT sessions...
She is saying a few words 'uice' Addy, Itty, Uddy' (juice, Daddy, Kitty and Buddy - her favorite stuffed toy ;p) but she mostly just babbles from a small set of sounds with an amazing amount of tone and accompanying expression. Her speech is definitely delayed, and will be tackled by her new speech therapist in the next few months. D and I have been a little worried, but are less so now that someone explained the nature of the problem - they say her language issues seem to be rooted in her fine motor skills and not her cognitive processes. Basically, she understands the concepts of language just fine, but lacks the fine tongue and mouth control to master a lot of sounds at present. They say given her EDS it is really not surprising...it's in the same camp as why she eats real food with her fingers just fine but struggles with a fork and spoon as well. -shrugs-
