home home on the range, where the coyotes and the racoons...tickle-fight.

it's quite nice to be home i must say.
popsicle and i ran through the arboretum yesterday.
we talked about music and MOD's and clove cigarettes. (which i guess he used to smoke)
i showed him where all the dope-smokers go to get high.
and then we met mother at the market.
and after a cramped seven hour drive amongst boxes and bags of god only knows what i'm finally here.
i feel like i have so much to tell everyone, but i really don't.
i'm just happy.
to be home. with my family. and friends.
speaking of which scott murphy is coming over tomorrow to help me unpack and repack.
then we're gonna play some rockin' freestyle duets on the piano. and probably walk over to the lake.
what a dish that kid is.
too bad he's smoking his life away.
he should be a musician.
well he is, but he should be one that earns money.

so my first day home went by as naturally as i expected.
my mom demanded before i went in that i admire the new railings she'd had installed on the stairs.
i came inside the house and my brothers showered me with hugs and kisses.
...
okay well not kisses cause we're not that close but...we hugged.
my gramsy-girl was in the kitchen cooking, of all things, fried chicken.
she exclaimed, "mija don't they feed you there! ay dios mio she's so thin!"
no she didn't cause she's not that hispanic but she basically said that minus all the latin.
i had cornbread.
my parents left me and the sibs to take my gamma home and shop.
then me and my little little brother did pilates.
boy oh boy did that take some negotiating on my part though.
for inquiring minds: yes, my objective is to turn my little brother as gay as possible.
he pwnXrd my butt at chess though. in about five minutes too. mind you, he's 8.
then me and eric watched the best movie in the world, van helsing.
and ryan and i read "max and sally and phenomenal phone."
then i crawled into my pretty, bombay bed, under my very girly canopy and went to sleep feeling very dapper indeed.

today was easter as you all know. but what you don't know and are probably wishing you did is what meganalyse did on this joyous holiday.
well.
i'll share.
i got all spiffed up in a pink puffy pastel tube-dress. i looked like an easter egg.
everyone at church was thrilled to see me in spite of my rather typical attire.
i just really had to go pee, but i was having a hard time getting quickly and inconspicuously through the masses.
people just kept squeezing me.
all the cheekpinching oldykins want me to marry the grandsons. gotta love those awkward comments.

then i came home and the extended familia came over.
and we ate.
what every all-american family eats on easter.
slow-roasted rabbit.

just kidding. we didn't eat rabbit.
unless those hollow chocolate ones count.
we had ham.
and enchiladas.
and potato salad.
and lasagna.
and chocolate covered strawberries.
and wine.
and odd mix?
i'll say.

my cousin amanda came which was nice.
we're practically twins you know...
except i'm cuter.
just kidding.

...

but seriously.
we talked about acting, griped about jewish guys, and laughed at my crazy and somewhat hammered puerto-rican aunts.
my cousin mark promised to take me on a long-ass run on wednesday. should be sweet.
and i've come to the conclusion that my newborn cousin mia looks like those troll baby dolls. feathery hair and all.
she even has a diamond in her belly-button.
not really though.

i have but one small complaint.
i seem to have a gaping gash that i bit in my lower lip that i can't stop tonguing.
isn't that too bad.

huntington bonfire tomorrow evening.
ought to be funsies.

ahh i love my room.
and now.
if you'll excuse me.
i think i'll sleep.
