The prince of Peace becomes the Warrior God
I have known sometime that Christianity has an unhealthy relationship with the military. I find my self having to ask for patience and help when i read things like this
Is that all God and Jesus are to these people a warrior that smites our enemies. I guess they do not remember Jesus' warning that those who draw the sword will die by it (Mat 26:52). I have been reading Rob Bell's Jesus Wants to Save Christians and this post is essentially a summary of what I have learned. If God is a God for all people then how can he back one groups military and not an others. Would you want to worship a God that you are told leads your conquers to victory?
Satan has turned the oppressed into those doing the oppressing. Look i dont have the eloquence of someone like rob bell but its time that american christians remeber that
He who is without sin cast the first stone
Love your neighbor as you love yourself
Love your enemy
There is no greater love than to lay down your life for another.
My heart aches over the blood being shed in Gods Name.
