Well I guess it really is time to update this thing! EH? Well this had been an AWESOME WEEK!
Well I guess we can start with Camp. The week I got home I was called as Assitant Camp director. FUN FUN. At first I didnt want to go but now I am so happy that I went! We got there on monday and had fun setting up - I got to get the girld alot. It was wierd being at Camp w/o everyone. I have been to Camp the last 8 years but its been with the same ppl. So now being a LEADER at camp was a lil different. All the girls were 12 and 13. Wierd. There were a few older ones but they moved to SA when I was already gone. Girls Camp is for 12 - 17 year olds. So yea Monday we got there and set up. We then meat with everyone and they anounced the theme. "Be still and know" it was a good theme for this year. Each day they had something else. They had "Be still and listen" "Be still and Feel" "Be still and Pray" and some others I cant remeber them all..but ya you get the point. So yea. Monday i also found out that I was lifegaurdin at camp. So everyday from 2-5 I sat at the lake/river livegaurding. It was hot but hey - I got an AWESOME TAN! lol. My first years were super cute. They stuck to my side though like nothin! Man! So yea that was Monday.
Tuesday my youth leaders (15-16 year old girls) allthough I only had 2 of them in my group, they wanted to pull a prank. When they asked me to be a leader they told me that I would have to behave. For some reason or another I have some background at camp. (Stace!) So yea. I gave them some harmless ideas but I DIDNT DO IT! So my youth leaders went and stole some of the Flags (each group makes a flag to hang in their campsite) So yea they stole some and left ransom notes. It was harmless prank! So yea. They had different activities through out the day and it was fun!
Wednesday - we had the BEST SNIPE HUNT EVER! For those of you who have no idea what I am talk about a Snipe hunt is a made up hunt where we take all the girls who are level 1's (It being there first year at Camp) and we tell them about this cute little animal that you can hunt. So in order for them to get it though we always come up with some thing wierd. So this year...we told them that they had to put Toothpaste on their face to keep the snipes away. They had to put a sock over their ears so that the snipes would not bite at them. And of course they had to take a pillow case to catch the snipe in. So all these lil girls were all ready with toothpaste and socks. We wait till its dark and then gave them speacial instructions. They were not aloud to take a flashlight cuz then the snipes would run away and theres a special snipe call. So we made up this studip lil chant like Wooo looo looo looo loooppp. Then we toke the girls in the back woods away from were we are campin. Some of us went out a lil early and hid in the woods. We climbed in trees and when the would come by we would shake the tree and toss rocks on the ground to make noises. They totally freaked. After about an hour we had a trash bag and someone (one of the leaders) yelled that they caught one...while everyoe was running over to see we cut a hole in the pillow case and said it ate its way out. Then we got on the floor under trees and had long branches that we would use to poke at their legs and feet. They all bought it. It was great. We kept at it for about two hourse. After some were cryin we stopped the hunt and sent all the girls to bed.
Thursday. Well the first thing we did was tell the girls that the Snipes were not REAL! There were some mad but everyone had a good time. Thats all that matters. Thursday night was our spiritual night. It was awesome. We had a faith walk. We pulled the girls one by one out of the camp site up the hill where they got blindfollded and they waited there until we got everyone up there. Then they were put on a railing that they were told not to let go off. After they held on to that we had the leaders with a rope and we put 10 girls on each rope. (All while blind floded that way they had no idea who they were by!) They were instructed not to let go. They walked up this rocky hill and there they were tempted but the "Devil" (bet you will never guess who the Devil was ?) Yea! That was me! LOL. They wanted someone who they girls would might follow. So I was running around tellin the girls to let go and come with me... that it would be easier...we would have more fun....and so on. Quite a few girls let go but everyone ended back on the rope. After all the groups were up and walkin on the hill we placed the gilrs group by group on another railing (the iron rod) and there again I tried again to get them to let go. After they followed the path...they were guided by the other leaders and they were un blindfollded and there was a Huge oak tree lighted up.(The Tree of Life) It was beautiful. The spirit was strong. Everyone there was silent. Brother Prestidge came and talked to the girls. It was amazing. I went home after that (around 2 am) and I was so GLAD I went to girls camp!
Friday I had the twins. I love the twins...we just hung out at the playground and then went to bed. It was great! So yea... I got home around midnight and then JOSH and WILL came. It was awesome. We hung out and then crashed.
SATURDAY! SATURDAY WAS THE DAY THAT STEPHANIE AND I HAVE BEEN SKEEMING (Acording to Josh) It turned out AWESOME. We woke up and went to Ma's for breakfast. SWEET! What a better way to start the day! After breakfast we drove out to Bandera and saw the sign that is there about the first Mormons in Texas. SWEET! After thay we went Tubbin. That was a blast! It was so much fun. We tubbed for about 2 1/2 hours. Afterwards we went to my house and showered. After we were all good smellin : ) we headed over to Burnhams and she let us use her house (She has a huge game room upstairs) We went and played some games while we made dinner. It was awesome. Afterwards we ate and then went to the TV room. It was fun. We watched a movie and at midnight we took Steph home. We went back to my house and finished the movie. After the movie we just layed there for a while. Then the boys took a nap and then around 6ish they headed back. It was sad that they had to leave...but hey I will be back in CC before i know it.
Then it was SUNDAY. I went to church. After church I went to Mom and Dads. We watched the game and some ppl came over. Ash, Bner, Mandy, Jon, Rachel, her bro, Christopher and so on. The normal gang! LOL. It was fun! AND OF COURSE THE SPURS WON! HECK YES! Are you seeing why this was a perfect week. Well now its monday and I got to sleep in. I have to babysit tonight and I guess I may update after wards. But for now this is long enough!? Michelle - this is like chapters 33-39. LOL! Miss ya girls... be good to Dav!
