(no subject)
got my books today.... somewhere around $300+ worth of mostly novels. this is freakin ridiculous.... i'm only taking twelve credit hours, yet i have TWENTY books in a bag at the foot of my bed. and i'm still missing one, i guess. mom picked them up for me today, and apparently when the guy got to the section for one of my classes said something like, "only four books for this one!" oh dear. i can't even figure out which ones go to which class
i told mom that when i die this semester, i want something lovely and literary engraved as my epitaph, in hopes that somebody will enjoy the irony. or written in sharpie on that cardboard box. whatever.
on another amusing (ish) note, i had to buy two copies of Jane Eyre for different classes. which i currently own a copy of from last spring semester. THREE TIMES NOW. glarg. and that frankenstein book that jonny bought forever ago, our first semester of college, which i needed for Claussen's class with zach and chels, i have another copy of that as well. oh, and turns out that (quite possibly the only book i ever returned to my english teachers in high school) we're reading gatsby in my American Fiction class. neither jonny nor i kept that particular one, somehow. and that evil poly sci class i dropped first day last semester, which the book store guy told me will not be using the same book this year: mom's in it. and asshat professor guy IS in fact using the same book, which i relatively recently threw away, since i had no use for it and couldn't sell it back. this is after i told her i had it, but luckily she hasn't returned hers yet.
had not anticipated spending that much time whining about my books, however the fact that this is the first time i have not had to pay for them makes me feel a little better
