Weekend update
I don't really have a whole lot of new and exciting information, but I figured I should just get back in the habit of blogging. Right now I'm watching Prometheus and chilling out a little while Sunny works and the kids clean up their crap a little. While the kids have things they are expected to do regularly, they have Friday chores that we expect to be done when they get home from school on Fridays. Last Friday we left for Michigan in the middle of the day so I didn't have the opportunity to enforce Friday chores for Madison. Wes got his done on Thursday because that's just the kind of kid he is. So we got home Sunday and Madison had not actually done her Friday room cleaning yet. So all week I've been on her about getting it done and finally Friday rolled around again and it still wasn't done. So I'm basically fairly annoyed, but it's finally getting done today.
We've been wanting to do a little geocaching lately, but there have been a few issues. For some reason, my gps app on my phone has not been working too well. I've managed to get it working again recently and that's good, but really, we bought a GPS unit and I want to use it. For some reason, the unit we had stopped turning on. Every now and again, we'd get it running, but then other times it would not. At some point, it just stopped turning on at all. Luckily Magellan was pretty cool about it and offered to send me a new one. I sent them the old one and once they got it, they sent out the new one. Sadly, the new one had an issue of it's own (which appears to be an OS issue) and is unusable. They've offered to send me another new one and even offered to pay the shipping for the old one (which I had to pay for last time) but today I got an email from them asking when I was planning on sending the old one back because they were waiting on sending the new one. I AM SO ANNOYED.
OKAY, so I just stopped to get dinner in the over and I used the new food processor that Charlie sent me and I have such a cooking boner right now. THANK YOU CHARLIE
I started listening to the Vampire Chronicles during my commute and I have to say, Lestat is really fucking annoying. I enjoy everything else about the books than him. I had to take a break on The Body Thief because I was just too annoyed and I'm listening to book 3in the Thrawn Trilogy. It was read amazingly well. The reader must be a celeb impersonator because he does Luke, Han and Lando perfectly. And other characters sound distinctly like Christian Slater and Antonio Banderas.
Work itself is good, but I kind of always think it's good. I really like what I do. I'm going to be taking a lot more of the reporting that I do and writing Java web apps to automate it all (or at least as much as I can). We're thinking we might stay in Elmvale until Madison is out of high school so she doesn't have to switch schools part way through. It's a hell of a lot for me to have to undertake considering my drive. I can't say I'm too happy about having so little free time during the week, but I can see the benefits to everyone for staying as well.
The world is good. Let's keep it that way.
