It's been a while and I've was reminded of something

I was just reading a post that lexibadger made. It was a meme and one of the questions was "have you ever danced in the rain?"

Being me, of course I have. I've even done it naked and inspired close to 50 other people to do it with me. But that's not what I was reminded of. When I was in school, I had a an Art minor with a focus on Photography. I got into Photography primarily for two reasons. First, I suck at drawing and painting and stuff like that but I like visual arts. Second, I really love dance and I suck at that too. I really like to say that I look graceful and beautiful when I dance, but those of you who've seen me can probably guess that is just not true. But yeah, so I had this friend Irene who was a ballet dancer and she danced with the dance company affiliated with our school. I went to see a few performances and I think on the third I just wanted to photograph it because it was so amazing.

That was the beginning of both me working with that company and making friends with a lot of the people involved with the company. Over the years I shot many performances and did a number of studio shoots as well. Eventually I started hanging out with a bunch of the dancers and this one night, a handful of us were somewhere hanging out drinking or something and it started to rain. This one woman Kristi, 7 shades of wasted and with a cigarette in her hand hops off the porch of the house into the rain and starts into Pas de Quatre, still grabbing a quick pull off her smoke every now and again. Three of the other dancers jump right in a few seconds later and out of nowhere, in the rain, beautifully lit by some sketchy, bent street light, there are these four amazing women, dressed in normal clothes, ripping through this dance like I've never seen anyone move. It was insane. I walked off the porch and kind of walked around mystified between them as they danced just staring with my mouth open. I'd kill puppies for a video of that because I know I'd never be able to recreate how it looked.

But yeah, that's what that question reminded me of.
