Rainy Day

Jun 03, 2006 20:41

Wow, it has been an interesting day for weather. It has gone from thunderstorm to sunny to dark and overcast, back to sunny and finally jumping back to thunderstorms. This switch seems to by every couple of minutes and it is like a switch is thrown. The standard joke about West Michigan definitely applies today. ("If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes.") The actually canceled Festival for the rest of the day at about 6 or so, and Festival is normally a huge draw for downtown Grand Rapids, and this is the first time I have ever heard of it being canceled, although that could be because it very rarely rains on Festival weekend, (much like JAFAX weekend.)

With the way the weather has been this afternoon I am very, very glad I went golfing in the morning. It was a beautiful day for golf, and I think I did alright for being the first time out in eleven months. I was originally planning on playing nine holes with Sean, but when we got there he asked if I had the time for eighteen, I told him I did but did not have the money to do it, and then he told me he was paying because I had paid for his dinner at the JAFAX meeting around Christmas time. I had completely forgotten that I had done so, and he said he had too until last night. So he paid for the full eighteen holes of golf and we had a really great time. My short game sucked hard but for the most part I could handle the long shots without difficulty. I even drove the green on a hole, (it was a short par 4 only 233 yards but it was really exciting to be able to do that,) of course due to my failure of a short game it took me four putts to get the damn ball into the hole so an eagle became a boogie.

After getting back from golfing I was so very tired, I ended up taking a two hour nap after finishing watching the last half of Weird Science. Man I still get a kick out of that movie even now that it has been over twenty years since it has originally been released.

Not much else going on right now, so have a good rest of the weekend to all ten (maybe) of you that read this.
