Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon- The other book I read by Elizabeth Moon was everything a science fiction should be. This one didn't have a message like the other one did, but it was a fun adventure story. Actually it reminded me a lot of Firefly at times. I enjoyed it very much.
Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner- This book takes the data analysis tools of economics to some interesting questions. I'm inclined to think about the world mathematically anyhow, so it wasn't OMG mind blowing in that respect. That said, I had a hard time putting it down.
