[Persephone showed up a little while later, with her arms full of a wicker basket. The basket was old and woven, and it was completely filled with things. There was an ungraceful knock on his door that was actually a rather sharp kick.]
[Clapet was busy sorting through some things, and looking for the photos he did have left of Julie, then yanked open the door for her,] Persephone. Come in... [He peered in the basket of hers, a little curious.]
[When he peered into the basket, Persephone moved over towards the nearest surface. She looked a bit tired, and the basket was rather heavier than one would think on it.]
I have many things to give you, Clapet, to bring Spring back to your world.
[Clapet followed her and nodded,] I... I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. [He didn't know if would work, but wwanted to try anyway.] What did you bring?
[When he asked her what she brought, Persephone grinned at him. She pulled out two plants, one a yam plant and the other a barley plant.] These will bloom instantly in the ground, and they will expand.
[She set the down and then pulled out a marble box, carved with greek scenes.] These are seeds, they will grow anywhere that you plant them. The next generation will also. I tried for a third, but hopefully it will work.
[He stared at them for a long minute. This was actually the moment when he realised exactly what Donny had done for him this morning. Because he looked at the plants and didn't see money. He saw something valuable, something he'd have to look after, but also something he could use.
And something he'd have to protect. Maybe this was why the vegetarians were underground. He idly looked at the outside of the box, almost with a little reverence, then set it down carefully. He didn't quite know how to thank her, so he could only think of one thing. He paused and then took her face in his hands and kissed her firmly. In thanks, mainly.]
[There was something else in the box, plants that would help make the ground fertile again, but she didn't get to that piece of it. Instead she found herself being kissed by someone whom she had firmly considered to be Coyo's property. Persephone was rather good at sharing when it suited her, but she did not wish her friend and lover to become angry with her for using a playmate when no permission had been given.
However, she did kiss him back, and she stroked his cheeks with her fingers quickly. He was a good kisser, and she could see why Coyo enjoyed him.]
[Clapet knew that Coyolxauhqui wouldn't mind. It wasn't like she didn't go after... well, he was fairly sure he'd lost count, and it wasn't a problem to him. So he kissed her back for a long, heavy moment, then pulled away from the kiss,] Merci.

[That, really, said all of what he was thinking.]
