Also, I am using the family PC. This would be because my own stupid computer decided to die of beep. Which brings a whole 'nother world of annoyance.
Said family PC however, has "better" protection on it. To the point where it blocks my posting page. None of the rest of livejournal, just my posting page. Mum managed to find a way round it (obviously) but it's still irritating not to have my own damn computer. I keep getting all paranoid that they're put a keystroke logger on it or something! D:
Also, Amy finally tagged the Download pictures on facebook. Even though I told her never to tag the one of my flashing my bra (I was drinking vodka-sambuca-malibu in vast quantities!) because ALL OF MY EMPLOYERS ARE ON FACEBOOK. FAIRLY REGULARLY. Seriously - everyone I used to work for/with and now my new boss. Who managed to find the slightly kinky photos of me in a Betty Page tee, mini skirt and thigh-high boots (don't ask!) and is forever bringing it up. So, yeah, that doesn't help the whole rage issue.
I think I'm going to either "be ill" or "pass out from exhaustion" and just stay in tonight. What is it with the week around xmas that just makes me feel so anti-social? Maybe it's because I've met up with practically everyone I know over the past two weeks in vast quantities and I'm just getting sick of it.
Anyway - ex-PC. It died of beep. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on here previously. Basically what happened was something on the motherboard packed up and wasn't getting hot enough to make the computer start (I have NO idea). Dad's taken on his technohead role and is insisting he, and he alone, can fix it.
Turned out he couldn't.
So then he sent it off to some of his friends, who were the only people who could fix it! Completely ignoring the fact that I was going to get Dave (Amy's sister's fiance) to have a look at it. Dave hacks computers for a living (or something similar). Dave tried to teach myself and Pat how to code whilst severely drunk. Sadly, Pat and myself were also severely drunk, and therefore couldn't remember a damn thing, but still!
Anyway - the people, who were the only people who could fix it!, couldn't fix it.
So, while I'm typing this, my feet are perched on top of my old computer. Whilst it's remarkably comfy, it's not a nice feeling. Then mum sent me a link to NovaTech, who sell PC's with motherboards that you can transfer your old hard drive and operating system straight into! "Great!", I sent back, "Now me, you and dad can muddle through the specs with the spec of my old computer, find something a little better for a good price and buy that! I will finally know what my computer actually HAS for once! Yay!"
Sadly mum also cc'd dad in the email. So I got though a "Right, well I've bought this model, it'll turn up tomorrow between 9 and 5, so it's lucky you're in all day" from dad. With no input from either of us. Darn, thinks I, but at least I'll have a PC again soon!
I try breaking it to dad that, firstly I would have liked a little input and explanation into my own computer and, secondly that I would be out all day tomorrow. Both things go down badly. He got really defensive over the first point, even when I thanked him for moving quickly and explained that I would like to know about computers. And I had to apologise for the second point. Because obviously going to college and then catching up with some old friends is just pushing it too far. For a twenty year old. And anyway - it's not like there's a depot where we could pick it up form later(!)
The PC did turn up, and luckily I was in. But it did turn up at 6:15pm. So they kind of fail in everything anyway. But now we have it and it should just be a matter of swapping the old into the new. *crosses fingers*
And! No one has replied to my messages on facebook. It's like being e-blanked.
UGH! Angst! Excuse me while I go and emo off into the sunset. OH WAIT, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A FEW HOURS AGO.
Breathe, Kat, breeeeeeeeatheeeee.
