Jora tells me of the vagaries of being a costumer for a Toronto high-school production of Brecht's The Good Woman of Setzuan.
JORDANA: And I have to go out and find a ten-foot branch!
ME: Hah, why?
JORDANA: One of the characters tries to hang himself.
ME: From a ten-foot branch?
JORDANA: Yep.
ME: When are you opening?
JORDANA: In nine days.
ME: No wonder he's going to hang himself.
JORDANA: I really have no idea where one might find a ten-foot branch.
ME: Can't he just hang himself from something industrial-looking?
JORDANA: No, it's in a park.
ME: Drown himself?
JORDANA: No.
ME: Stab himself?
JORDANA: He has to try to kill himself.
ME: He could miss.
