black henna is natural henna paste with black hair dye added to it. as you may know, hair dye is NOT supposed to lay on the skin. black hair dye is the worst. someone sometime ago found out that you could add the dye to henna paste, and get a cool black stain instead of henna's standard orange/red brown stain. what generally happens is that the paste stays on much less time, and if the paste is left on too long, it can cause permanent scarring in the area. its NOT pretty scarring either.... if you do a google search for "black henna effects" or just "black henna" you will likely find alot of awful pictures of what can happen. one of the issues is that the girl who we suspect is telling people this - is the woman we worked for last year. she knows damn well how I feel about black henna - Its awful, unscrupulous, and scary that people are using it....I used to cary around computer print outs for people to read on black henna. I chastized the woman last year for NOT having release forms stating what was IN her henna....I always make every customer sign the release form - it lists ALL the ingredients in my henna, and you have to sign the form stating that you are not allergic to anything in there. she had no such thing. never told anyone what was in her henna or anything. sooo......stating that we're doing black henna is an intentional dig to hurt us and our business. slander? I have to go investigate what to do and how to proove. urgh! I just wanted to do a nice little faire. ::sigh::
