Black Star had kept his promise, visiting Kid every so often. To make it less awkward, though, he brought along the others, trying to keep calm when the twin pistols were all over the other meister.

Every time they visited, Kid would merely smile weakly, and if they were lucky, he'd actually say 'hi'. The group knew that he must still be recovering over the shock and his injuries, and that his human body was just slowing down the process. This only added to his irritation.

But a couple weeks had passed, and Kid knew this would be the day he had to leave the infirmary. The teen had fully recovered - physically.

"Well, looks like you're outta here, Kid." The three-star meister mused. "Don't get too happy now."

There was a long pause. Kid stared straight ahead, ignoring the man, waiting patiently for him to leave.

"...Okay, then..." Stein exhaled, blowing his cigarette smoke towards the door. "I'll be leaving now." He rolled to the doorway, and twirled back around. "Oh, and don't forget to tell me if anything unusual is happening... Other than the fact that you're human."

When he didn't get an answer, he leaned forward on his chair. "I'm serious, you know. You have to tell me. Alright?" He sighed, knowing he wasn't going to get a response, and rolled away.

Kid listened attentively for a minute, making sure Stein was long gone. The teen took a deep breath, and crouched down to put on his shoes. "Here I go." He stated quietly, preparing himself for the rough love he was sure he'll get.

"KIIID!!!~" Patti sang, glomping the poor boy as soon as he opened the front door. Liz followed suit, hugging him to death as well.

"Aw, Kid," She murmured in his hair. "We all missed you so much..." He knew she was going to start the waterworks, so he politely tried pulling the two girls off of him. 'Tried' being the key word.

"You're finally home, ya freak!~" The younger of the sisters cheered, squeezing Kid even more around his middle. She started giggling. "We gots somethin' for you!"

Kid pulled back as much as he could to look at her clearly. "Wha..?" He barely whispered the word before he heard more feet pounding towards him.

"Kid!"

"Yo, Kid."

"Aha, hey, Kid."

"Hello, Kid-kun."

The said teen didn't budge; whether it was from shock or because Liz and Patti were still latched to him, was unknown. Maka, Soul, Black Star, and Tsubaki gathered around him, too, embracing him in their heartfelt circle. Soul wasn't really hugging as much as giving him a pat on the back.

"Guys..." Kid mumbled, obviously embarrassed with so much unneeded attention. Stumbling for words, he just stared everywhere but their faces.

"Kid. We came as soon as possible when we heard you were back," Maka smiled, pulling away. She ruffled his hair. "You know, you look kinda cute without your stripes." Soul glared at him a little as she said this.

"Yeah, Kid. You're perfectly symmetrical now, ya know." Liz added, and she unlatched herself from him as well. The girl wiped her tears with her long sleeves. Had she grown even taller since he was gone?

Patti gave her wide smile, nodding and letting go, too. "Kid is totally symmetrical!~" He looked her over; she looked taller as well, and her hair had grown a bit longer.

Tsubaki and Black Star let go soon after; lingering could make it awkward.

Kid glanced up at the teens around him, at their grinning faces. So they missed him that much, huh? Smiling sadly to himself, he thought about how much he missed them as well. Every day, locked in that cell, he thought about them. How many lies were being told to them, how easily they followed under the order of Shinigami. Kid didn't realize he sighed out loud.

"You okay, Kid?" Black Star placed an arm around his shoulder. "Come on, we got a party waiting for you, and everything." He smirked, awaiting Kid's reply.

"Umm..." Liz and Maka laughed, noting his expression.

"Why are you so red, Kid?" Liz grinned, placing her hand on Kid's back. "Let's show ya what we did."

The ninja and demon gun led Kid happily to the living room, the others parading behind. The expanded space was decorated with black and red streamers along the walls, and brightly colored balloons highlighting the floor. In dead center of the room, there was a long table filled with cookies, soda, chips, brownies, cake, and every kind of party food imaginable. The table embellished with randomly placed Hershey's Kisses, Kid's favorite candy.

"..."

"Weelll?" Patti appeared in front of the quiet boy, bouncing like a child on Christmas Day. "Do ya like it? Huh? Do ya?" She was about to burst if Kid didn't say anything, and Liz could sense this.

"Okay, okay, Patti," The older sister tried to calm the other down. "Let's give Kid some space now. I'm sure he's wiped out from everything." She patted Patti on the head (no pun intended xD), and turned back around towards Kid. "You alright?"

Managing to find his voice again, Kid gave a small smile. "Yeah. I am. Thanks." He really did appreciate everything they put together for him, but he just couldn't accept it. He felt sick to his stomach.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Black Star barked impatiently. "Let's get this freakin' party goin'!" The ninja let out a shout, and dove for the food.

Tsubaki sighed, shaking her head apologetically. "I'm sorry, Kid-kun."

"It's fine." I just want to go to my room and hide.

Soul and Maka chatted a while, trying to get Kid to open up more, but failed, retreating to the snacks with Black Star. Kid knew they were trying to help; but nothing can help a lost cause.

"Hey, Kid," Liz started nonchalantly. "...what did happen? You know..." She rolled her eyes for emphasis. "...with that dude... What's his name? Moses?" She tried. She really did.

"Noah." Kid stared off into space, avoiding Liz and Tsubaki's concerned stares. "I don't want to talk about it." If I told you, I'm pretty sure you'd tell him. And he can't know; otherwise he'd try to patch it up with more lies. I don't want you guys to get hurt...

"Alrighty then." The demon gun frowned, and clapped her hands together thoughtfully. She glanced at Tsubaki with a knowing look. The other girl nodded, and walked towards the others, trying politely as possible to drag Patti behind her.

As soon as they were a good distance away, Liz began again. "Kid. I know something's bugging you. What's up?"

"I don't know..." That's a lie. I'm sorry; I'm just like him.

"Kiiidd..." She grunted, aware he was very well hiding something from her.

Kid peered up at her, observing her body language. Her arms were crossed impatiently across her chest, her foot thudding against the carpet expectantly. She won't leave me alone until I say something convincing... "What the hell do you want me to say?" Acting stubborn was childish, but it was the only way to go without revealing anything. "I'm glad to be back, but, God, leave me alone already."

He tried marching off, only to be pulled backwards by Liz's strong grip on his elbow. He stumbled a bit; the unfamiliar feeling of being weak scared him. "Oh no you don't. We made this celebration just for you! Don't get all high and mighty on me." She frowned, and loosened her grip. "C'mon, Kid. At least try to enjoy this. I promise I won't mention it anymore."

Kid stared at her carefully, and sighed. He mumbled an 'alright', and they joined the other teens at the food table.

"What were ...you guys talkin' ...bout?" The blue-haired boy managed to get out between mouthfuls of food.

"Nothing." The weapon replied defensively.

Nice. That's not suspicious.

"Oh yeah?" Black Star stuffed another cookie in his mouth. "No need to be so snobby." He retorted, getting a death glare in response. He glared confidently back.

Kid gazed back down to the floor, trying to find images in the wool carpet. I changed my mind. I can't do this. He glanced up quickly at the scene before him. Liz and Black Star were arguing about something; he couldn't hear. Tsuabaki and Maka were trying to calm the two down, while Patti just rolled on the floor, laughing at their attempts. Still, he could hear nothing. Kid studied Soul, the more composed of the group. He could tell the weapon was mumbling something about 'totally uncool', but no sound escaped his mouth.

I really need to lie down. Kid silently made his escape from his friends, and trudged up the stairs. They didn't even notice he left, and that hurt even more. What did I expect? For them to chase after me, beg me to stay? I would say 'no' anyway, so what's the difference?

Kid wobbled a bit down the hall, and eventually reached his room. The mental abuse from Noah lingered, because so much of what that man said was unfortunately true. And Kid just beat himself up more for that. He was the son of a terrifying god, a murderer.

I wish I was never born. And with that last thought, he collapsed on his bed, dead asleep.

"Wakey, wakey!~"

No response.

"Liz- chaaan!~"

Said girl twitched a bit, but still remained unconcious.

"...New sale at the mall! 80% off all designer jeans!~"

"WHAT?" Liz jolted out of bed, and rushed to her closet. "Ohmygod! Ohmygod!" She chanted excitedly to herself, pulling random pieces of clothing off her hangers.

"Erm... Liz-chan, I was just kidding."

The weapon jumped, instantly recognizing the voice. Blushing, she turned back around to the mirror mounted on the wall, near her bedroom door. "Sh-Shinigami-sama!" She gradually walked over, after rearranging her clothes on their hangers. "God, don't scare me like that." Then she quickly added, "Er, no offense."

The god chuckled. "Of course. None taken." Then he resumed his goofier, but serious, tone. "Ah, Liz-chan, I wanted to speak to you about Kid. How's he doing?"

Liz hesitated for a moment, thinking back to last night. Kid had crept away and she hadn't even realized it. Oh, god. I feel so awful. Stupid Black Star. "Well... He's... fine, I guess..."

Shinigami could hear the lack of sureness in her voice. "Please keep an eye on him, okay?" When the girl nodded, he continued. "Make sure he doesn't go anywhere without a chaperone of some sort. Because he usually relied on his shinigami strength, he’s much more fragile now..."

Liz noted the worry in his voice. "I understand. Don't worry, Shinigami-sama." She smiled. "We'll all watch over him."

"That's good." The god let out a sigh of relief. "Please alert the others of this!~" He bounced, waving as his image faded out.

The weapon slumped her shoulders a little, knowing Kid probably wouldn't like this. "Oh well. It's for his own good." She nodded, having convinced herself as she strode over to her closet again to get dressed.

***

Around ten thirty, the most of the house’s occupants woke up. The whole gang had stayed the night, anxious about making sure Kid was alright.

"Good morning..." Maka yawned when Liz told her breakfast was ready, stretching out her arms. She had slept on the couch, after having a fight with Soul, who slept on the floor. He was still snoozing, so she kicked him. "Get up, idiot." Maka growled, getting a mumbled 'leave me alone' as a response.

She stepped over him and made her way into the kitchen, where Patti, Tsubaki, and Black Star were lounging around the 8-person table. Liz served them fresh waffles, and passed out two syrup bottles. "Hey, Maka." She greeted.

"Hey," she trudged over to the table, sitting next to Tsubaki and Black Star, and across from Patti. Liz set down a warm plate in front of her. "Mmm. Thanks. These smell really good."

Black Star grinned. "Wait 'till you actually taste it!" He had drowned his waffles in syrup, and had eaten one already. He stabbed his fork in another, bringing it up to his mouth to devour.

"Can you eat like a normal person?" Maka grimaced, taking her time to cut hers with a knife.

"Normal? Ha, I'm anything but." The ninja joked, chewing his waffle only twice before he swallowed.

Tsubaki ate her breakfast in peace, ignoring the two. Patti had somehow gotten a hold of a yellow crayon, and was doodling on the table top. She finished her food ages ago.

"Patti..." Liz scolded as she sat next to her sister, across from Black Star. "Kid will be upset if you don't clean that up..."

"Where is Kid, by the way?" Black Star choked down his last couple of waffles, wiping his mouth with his arm. "He ain't up yet?"

"Well, neither is Soul." Maka huffed, bringing another piece of waffle to her face.

"Tch. I beg to differ." All of them turned around, to find Soul in the doorway, wiping the sleep from his eyes. "I am totally up." He crossed over to the table and sat next to Patti, facing Tsubaki. "G'Morning... Everyone..." He yawned again.

Soul received a greeting from everyone except one pig-tailed meister. He frowned. "Are you still mad?" The girl just ‘hmphed’, and turned her head.

"Hellooo." Black Star continued, not liking the fact no one answered him. "What about Kid? Someone should check if he's up."

Liz thought back on the conversation with Shinigami-sama, and replied, "Oh, yeah. Black Star, do you think you can? You're the only one done..."

"Whadda 'bout me?" The blondie next to her whined.

"Erm, Patti... How about you clean up your drawings so Kid won't get mad?" Liz suggested instead.

Patti smiled again. "Oh, yeah. Okie then.~" The weapon got up and went to find some cleaning materials. Of course, that's what she was doing for a few minutes, before she lost focus and began coloring on something else.

"Ah, Patti..." The group sweat-dropped.

"Alright, alright, I get it." Black Star stood up, causing his chair to screech against the tile floor. "I'll go check on him." The teen left the bright room in a flash, and pounded up the stairs.

"Er... I don't even know what room he's in..." The poor guy concluded as soon as he arrived at the top of the stairs. He wandered the halls a bit, the memory of the church flashed in his mind. His face distorted with disgust. "God... That was horrible..." The image of a bloody Kid crept into his head, making him shiver.

"Black Star?" The abrupt sound startled him. He turned around to find Kid, who just opened his bedroom door.

"Uh, Kid." Black Star walked back towards him. "You awake, now? Breakfast is ready..."

"Mm." Kid mumbled and drifted past the other teen, making his way down the stairs.

"Oi, wait up, dude." The ninja called, swiftly catching up with Kid. "...You okay?"

"Uh-huh." Okay as in would rather be off dead in a ditch? Then yes.

They said nothing else as they arrived back downstairs, and trailed into the kitchen.

"Oh, good. You're awake," Liz set down the dishes she was carrying in the sink. She pulled out a plate of waffles from the microwave, and walked towards Kid. "Here, I made your favorite breakfast." She smiled brightly.

Kid accepted the food, and turned towards the table. Only Soul remained.

"Yo, man." Soul motioned with his fork. "Mornin'."

"Morning." Kid plopped down indifferently across from the weapon, and picked up his fork. He unconsciously poked at his waffles. They looked mushy, as if they were made quite a while ago. Liz must have expected him to wake up at eight, like usual.

Kid was just about to set down his fork and give back the food to Liz, when a big bottle of Log Cabin syrup appeared directly in front of his face.

"It tastes even better with this, y'know." When Kid didn't budge, Black Star flipped the bottle over and poured a decent amount on his waffles. "If you want more, I'll leave it here." He placed the syrup next to Kid's plate, and took a seat right next to him, propping an elbow on the table. What does he want...?

"Soul, why don't you tell Kid and Black Star about what we were talking about earlier?" A childish voice giggled. Patti appeared in the room, holding onto Maka.

"Argh." The bookworm grunted. "I still think it's a bad idea."

"What is...?" Black Star questioned; his curiosity definitely made itself known.

Liz just smirked knowingly. "You gonna tell 'em, Soul?"

"Haha, of course," The weapon leaned back in his chair, setting his fork down. "We were thinking... And we all know you must want to forget about everything... Sooo -"

"WE'RE GONNA GO TO DA CLUB!" Patti cheered, shaking the girl she was still holding onto. "WOOHOO!~"

"SERIOUSLY?" Black Star hopped onto the table, knocking over the flower vase. "THAT'S AWESOME! YAHOO!~" He quickly joined Patti in a random dance of celebrating; and poor Maka was dragged into it.

"Soul..." She cried. "Help me!" Patti was using her as a dance partner, as Black Star did his own weird thing.

"Ahaha," Soul chuckled. "I would help you, if you weren't still mad at me." He propped his feet up on the table and crossed his arms, having finished his breakfast. Liz and Tsubaki started chatting about what they would wear and such, not noticing the fear in Kid's eyes.

A club? Really? He started to bite his lip. This is bad, I just know it. Kid took another look around at his friends; they seemed so ecstatic, as if they suddenly discovered the cure for cancer. He sighed. They care. They care a lot.

"Ready for tonight, Kid?" A hand smacked the teen on the shoulder, and laughed. "This'll totally be awesomeness, dude." Kid glanced up at Black Star. He didn't want to deny him his happiness.

"Sure." He allowed a fake smile to appear on his lips. "Whatever you say."

***

"Whoa, this is wicked cool." Soul approved, admiring the dimly lit, private room Liz and Patti bought with Kid's never ending money. He was dressed in a dark shirt with some random logo, and a black leather jacket pulled on top. He wore dark jeans, and some old fashioned converse. His arm lay across Maka's shoulders, having made up after their fight.

She was dressed in a short black dress, somewhat similar to the one she wore when she and Soul had a soul resonance. This one was a little fluffier at the hems, and had no sleeves. Black and silver bangles adorned her wrists, while she wore medium-high heeled black Mary Jane’s. Her hair was pulled into one high ponytail, and she let her bangs fall. "It really is amazing back here." She agreed, and Tsubaki nodded beside her.

The weapon wore a sparkling ocean blue dress that went up to her mid thigh. It was slit a bit, and she had put on black leggings underneath. Since she was already so tall, she slipped on dark blue and black ballet flats. Her hair was loose, with a thin blue headband highlighting it. "Indeed." She smiled, and sat down with Maka and Soul at the circular table.

"Of course this is, if Mr. Rich Guy paid for it." Black Star smirked, nudging Kid with his elbow. The assassin was wearing a bright neon green and orange shirt, after saying that he wanted all the attention on him. Long denim boarder shorts were adjusted around his waist, with black and white checkered sweatbands on his wrists. It was the mismatch from hell.

Kid just nodded, making his way over to the table as Black Star dragged him along. Since he wasn't very enthusiastic about choosing an outfit, Liz and Patti put one together for him. Kid was dressed in a medium-length, loose black shirt with a dark purple asymmetrical design on it. But that wasn't the worst part. They had made him wear faded black skinny jeans, saying that they hugged his figure. God. He wasn't a girl. And as for the shoes, the girls picked out some black Vans with purple laces. Kid had become their dress-up doll.

"Heehee," Patti giggled, seeing Kid's expression when they were all sitting down around the table. "Kid looks cuuute.~" The weapon herself was clothed in a short, bright, rosy pink and black laced corset dress, with poofy frills at the bottom. Her hair was left half up half down. Shiny black high heels made her appear even taller.

"Don't say that..." Kid mumbled, embarrassed he was dressed in such …skater kid attire.

"Aw, you know you look hot." Liz mused, giggling along with her sister. The older sister showed off her stomach with a black Ed Hardy tank top and a mini denim skirt. She wore long, low-heeled black boots, and an array of colorful bangles on her right hand. Her hair was pulled into two small pigtails, leaving the rest to flow down her back.

"Ahaha, I can't believe we got our own private room!" Black Star shouted over the soft hum of music playing outside of their sanctuary.

Maka winced. "We can hear you perfectly fine, you know. Don't need to shout." Soul just chuckled and pulled her closer to him.

"You guys are so adorable.~" Liz smirked, gaining a blush from the two partners.

"Heh. Adorable? I am beyond adorable."

"Not you Black Star," The demon gun rolled her eyes. She turned back to Maka and Soul. "So ignoring the idiot, what was the mission you guys went on? You never did tell us."

The others leaned in to get an answer from the meister and death scythe. Soul's eyes flashed to Maka for a second, and she nodded. "Well... Shinigami-sama had sent us on a simple task of practicing our flight and such..." She hesitated a bit, but then continued. "And we were with Kim and Jackie; but I suddenly sensed a strong soul, coming our way. I told them to go on ahead of us, and soon after, we ran into this guy... He was so set on killing us, geez." Maka huffed, and crossed her arms.

Kid sat up a little straighter.

"Yeah, god. He was hella weird, too. He kept saying this dude's name while he attacked us, the freak." Soul finished for his meister, leaning back against the cushioned booth seat. Could they mean...?

"But we took care of him in a second," Maka smiled again, resting her head back on Soul's shoulder. "He disappeared into this weird page thing."

So they defeated him. Kid breathed, "Gopher."

"What was that?" Black Star cocked his head to the side, staring back at Kid.

"Ah, er, nothing." Kid repositioned himself in his seat, glancing in the opposite direction.

"Alright, alright. Enough about Shibusen and missions." Liz concluded, waving around her hand. "Let's party already."

"You're the one that asked..." Soul muttered, getting a small kick from Maka.

Liz stood from their table and opened their private room's door. She peered out over the raving night club. "Wow, this looks so cool!" She squealed, jumping a little. Patti got up and joined her, as they scanned the building for cute boys.

"Erm, Liz-chan, Patti-chan..." Tsubaki weakly held up a hand, only to sigh in defeat when the two girls found their targets and raced out the door.

"Uh, you wanna go dance, Maka?" Soul offered, holding out a hand to her. She gratefully took it, and they left the room as well.

"Let's go guys," Black Star suddenly jumped up from the table. He struck out his hands, one which Tsubaki happily accepted. Kid didn't move. "C'mon, dude."

Kid shook his head. "Nah, it's alright. I'll stay here."

"What? Are you stupid or something? We're here to have fun! Especially you."

"Someone has to watch over the girls' purses and stuff, Black Star." Kid sulked, earning an annoyed moan from the assassin.

"Er, Kid-kun," Tsubaki stated gently, "Liz-chan gave me the key to the room; I could just lock it."

"Yeah, c'mon..." Black Star whined, still waving his hand in Kid's face.

“Fine.” The grumpy teen took his hand, and together, the trio paraded out the door. Well, Black Star did, anyway.

"Look at this place..." Tsubaki exhaled, amazed at the flashing neon lights - and the boys, of course. "Bye guys.~" She stated briskly, and disappeared into the crowd of dancing people before Black Star could stop her.

"Oi! What the hell, Tsubaki," He snorted, placing a hand on Kid's arm. "Looks like it's just you and me, then." Turning his head, he studied Kid for a moment, contemplating something.

Acknowledging the other boy staring at him, Kid muttered, "What?"

Black Star snapped his fingers, and let out a chuckle. "I know what you need, Kid." He spoke loudly over the booming music. "Follow me." Kid didn't have much of choice as Black Star hauled him over to the bar.

Kid was seated against his will onto a bar stool, and the ninja sat beside him. "So whadda ya want, Kid?" He grinned, awaiting a response.

The skater boy just furrowed his brows. "What? Did you forget alcohol doesn't affect me..." He suddenly trailed off, remembering; he wasn't a shinigami anymore.

"Haha, yup," Black Star snickered, and turned to the bartender. "We'll both have a shot of vodka."

"'Aight." The bartender turned, whipping up their orders.

"What?" Kid gaped at the other meister. "Are you serious? What happens if you get drunk?” He thought a moment, before he panicked and added, “What will happen if I get drunk?”

Black Star leaned over, and laid an arm around Kid's shoulder. "Re-lax." He smirked, noting that Kid's breathing picked up a little. "At least you're talkin' more. Ahaha, besides, I can totally take care of myself when I'm drunk." Pausing, he thought a moment. "Well... I don't know about you... You never been drunk, right?"

Black Star laughed at Kid's 'F you' expression. "Geez. This could be funny then," He nodded, smirking. "I shoulda brought a tape recorder or something."

"Here ya go." The bartender swiftly placed down their drinks, and turned away to help another customer.

"Bottoms up." Black Star stated before gulping down the alcoholic drink. He shifted to face Kid. "Well go on, wuss." Teasing, he poked Kid in the side.

"I don't know..." The nervous boy cautiously picked up the small glass, and eyed it carefully.

"It's not gonna bite," The ninja joked, grabbing Kid's shot. "Here, I'll help you."

"I don't need help." The teen pouted childishly, and held up his drink away from Black Star.

"Then do it already."

Kid swallowed his fear, and choked down the disgusting drink. His face suddenly resembled that of when he met Excalibur. "God, it tastes awful."

"Haha, I can't believe you actually did it!" Black Star slapped the counter, doubling over.

His face reddening, Kid stuttered, "E-excuse me? Of c-course I did." The ninja's laughing ceased a bit. "Seriously... Stop it."

"I'm sorry, man," Black Star grinned again. "Well then, what're we waiting for?" He faced forward again. "Bartender!" The man strode over. "Give me and my friend the same thing."

They received their shots, and Kid didn't hesitate to drink it this time. Black Star ordered what seemed like only a few more, when the other boy started feeling light-headed.

"Heehee," Kid smiled a loopy grin; the room seemed to sway back and forth. "I feel funny.~" He sang in a high note, while his buddy just cracked up at every little thing.

"AHAHAHA. Man, you're... Killin' me," Black Star wiped the tears from his eyes. He smacked down his latest shot glass. "I want more! MORE MORE MORE!~" He started to chant, breaking out into laughter at random times.

"Duuude," Kid swiveled a bit on his stool. "You're totally wasted, hehehe. Wheee~" The drunken teen unexpectedly plopped down on the other meister's lap. "Oopsie, hehe."

Black Star stopped laughing. "Heh, you smell nice." He murmured in Kid's hair, hugging the other boy closer. Kid didn't move; he only sighed in contentment as Black Star held him, breathing in his scent. Kid picked up his head slightly, a dazed look in his eyes, as he stared into Black Star's teal ones. They didn't know who kissed who first, but it didn't matter. The boys pulled at the other meister’s hair, trying to bring the other closer.

Kid pulled away, the lack of air being the only reason. Black Star lifted his head again as well, breathing heavily. "Kid..." Catching their breath once more, they latched on to the other again, ignoring the muttering bartender.

Not thinking much of it, Black Star slyly slipped a hand up Kid's shirt. When the said teen let out a small moan, Black Star continued further - only to get a small yelp of pain instead. "W-What?" The ninja stammered, as Kid strained to get away from him. "What happened?"

Tears were forming in Kid's eyes; he couldn't think straight, only that he needed to escape. Sobering up enough to get in a good punch to the jaw, Kid quickly took this chance to stumble away. He ran blindly into the crowd of raving people, getting pushed in different directions. Neon lights blazed his vision. He couldn't hear Black Star calling out to him; Kid was long gone.

Reaching the opposite side of the night club, he tumbled along the walls, trying to find an exit. He needed to get out. He felt like he was suffocating. Kid managed to stagger out the closest door he found, and took in the night air.

Why did he run away? His head was throbbing, the city lights started to spin. He slumped forward against something hard, but it was too soft to be the wall...

"I missed you, little Shinigami."

Kid slipped into the darkness.
