I believe that learning new habits is kind of like a skill. There's no skill you can practice to become better at changing what you do (except maybe self-assertiveness-towards-self / willpower, maybe) - but for any change, it will be easier and stick better if you practice it. ^_^

Also: two questions!
Once, since you know nutrition more than me, on this map: "A exercise B shower C", should "eat breakfast" fall at A, B, or C?

Two, from the link: "Each session should take about 20 or 30 minutes, three times a week. That just happens to be the same amount of moderate exercise recommended by numerous studies for optimum fitness. This program will get you fit. (Runners who do more than this amount are doing it for more than fitness, and before long you might find yourself doing the same as well)."

Does this mean that on the other days of the week I should do something other than walk/jog/run? It seems to suggest both "yes" and "no" to me. :/

Hm, I wonder, if they say "5k in two months", how long 15k would take...

Thanks for the link! :D

Of course you have to practice it; that's why you get up and get back on track the next day. But it doesn't do any good if you sleep through your alarm or something one day to call it a failure and beat yourself up about it -- it's not productive. Does that make sense?

About food, that would depend. I would eat after the shower, myself, but if you find yourself getting lightheaded during the exercise, I would eat something very small and light, preferably with protein and carbs in it, and then have a get-you-through-to-lunch meal after the shower.

Ah, yes! It makes sense. Sorry, I was meaning more to agree with you, but probably could have expressed myself better.

Do you have any suggestions for something very small and light with protein and carbs? Perhaps some sort of homemade granola bar with a bit of cashew butter on top? Though granola + [x]nut butter sounds a bit heavy. You are the light eater and food-knowing-person thingie, so I humbly ask you for either suggestions, or help figuring out how to google such information. :)

It really depends on your stomach and how well it tolerates different things. Whatever feels "light" to you will be different from what does to me. Basically, the idea is not to eat something that will make you sluggish; just something to give you some readily-available energy. Some dried (or fresh) fruit with nut butter could be good.

Oh yeah: and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise, three days a week, is recommended. Letting yourself rest in between is also a good idea -- but you may also *choose* to do another, non-cardio something in those in-between days. I would recommend starting with a flexibility regimen, then adding strengthening/isometric exercises gradually.
