So I made the trip out to AZ yesterday for my court date. Showed up an hour and a half early and found the court house was just a small building.
Walked inside and was informed that the judge was not present due to a family emergency in Escondido, CA (which to me was funny as hell - we probably passed him on the freeway going to AZ while he was heading to CA!) The head court clerk explained that AZ had a program called Rule 17. I basically write down my plea and they contact me with a time and date where I can call the judge and go over everything via telephone.
Filled out the paper work and headed home. The court clerk was a nice gentleman that explained the judge was not knowing for handing out max sentences (which in my case is $750). He said I would more than likely be placed on probation for 6 months and have a small fine. He did inform me that AZ had found a loop hole in its sentencing laws and is allowed to take on a surcharge of 80% to whatever my fine is. So if I do end up getting a max fine it will end up costing me roughly $1300!
Came home from all the stress and drama and packed up a nice bowl. Was nice to feel mary jane in my lungs again after taking a 3 week break.
Thanks to everyone that wished me luck, I do appreciate it!
