please come home (amateur poetry night)
i was just beginning to forget last year
when i heard that you're coming here.
now i am stuck in my memories like honey.
your heart is as cold as mine
and that's why i thought we'd do fine
but that only shows how little i know.
you're the only one who knows that secret
that you kidnapped from me.
i spent so much time cheering you up
to pass the time
but now i'm alone and doing just fine.
how dare you come back to my town, now!
six months ago, i would have groveled.
six months from now, we might have a laugh.
but damn, now your efforts are hashed.
what can i do?
