Title Whisper of a Dream
Fandom Tokyo Babylon
Summary Seishiro asks Subaru about his dreams.
“Subaru-kun,” Seishiro-san said. “Do you ever dream about me?”
“Ho ho ho!” Hokuto chortled. “Answer that one carefully, Subaru!”
Subaru blinked and tried to think. He often found his dreams difficult to remember. Too much went on in his real life to really worry about most of his dreams. Unless they seemed really important.
“Well, sometimes,” he said hesitantly. “I dreamed about when we went to see the penguins. And there was a dream when we had loads of sandwiches and cake on a blanket … ”
That made Hokuto laugh again although Subaru wasn’t sure why. Seishiro-san smiled.
“Oh, that’s nice,” he said. “I did hope that you might dream about me. That shows I am important in your affections.”
“Seishiro-san … ” Subaru muttered but Hokuto had already started laughing for a third time.
“At least there was nothing about tunnels in there!” she cackled.
“Huh?” Subaru said and regretted it when Hokuto started laughing again.
“Don’t explain it, Seishiro-san,” she said fiercely. “He’s too young to know about such things.”
“I would not dream of tarnishing Subaru-kun’s innocence,” Seishiro-san said with a smile, patting Subaru on the head. Subaru rolled his eyes a little and ignored them both. Clearly, Seishiro-san and Hokuto were going to be silly again. He continued to look through the textbook he was reading for his homework. Hokuto giggled and got up, saying something about getting more tea. Subaru continued to look at his book until Seishiro-san’s fingers suddenly touched his chin, turning Subaru’s face up towards him.
“Do you remember no other dreams about me?” he asked.
“No … ” Subaru said blankly. “Well, not off-hand … ”
Seishiro-san smiled. It was a strange smile, not like Seishiro-san at all. Subaru blinked as the fingers tightened slightly on his chin.
“Are you sure, Subaru-kun?” he asked softly. “Nothing more … interesting?”
Something niggled at Subaru’s memory. A shadowy figure, tumbling cherry blossoms, a voice murmuring “This time, I’m going to let you go … ”
“I … ”
Seishiro-san’s hand brushed up over his cheek and Subaru blinked. What had just happened? Hokuto walked into the room with a tray and raised her eyebrows.
“Seishiro-san, are you attempting to behave inappropriately towards my brother?”
“Not at all, Hokuto-chan,” Seishiro-san smoothly. “Was I, Subaru-kun?”
“N-no,” Subaru said bewilderedly, accepting his tea from Hokuto. “I … no.”
The faint whisper of a dream tugged at his mind. He considered it for a moment, trying to remember what had made him uncomfortable. Then he shrugged. It probably wasn’t that important.
Title No Way to Win
Fandom Jyu Oh Sei
Summary Thor tries to decide if he's sad.
“Are you sad?” Tiz asked him.
Thor didn’t have an answer for that question. Yes, of course he was sad. He was sad all the time. His family were all dead and one of those deaths had been at least half his fault. He was in a world where you killed or died and people respected him for being a murderer (it was self-defence, he hadn’t even issued the Challenge, Saad had done that, forced his hand, it wasn’t really his fault …) How could he be anything else?
But when the plants were looking beautiful and the water was sparkling in the sunlight … when Tiz was making him laugh or Saad laid his long fingers in Thor’s hair …
Perhaps he was just sometimes sad.
Only every time he thought that, it felt like he was betraying Rai and his parents. And then he was sad again.
Thor didn’t think there was any way to win. Not any more.

Summary Ito and Makoto make plans for their wedding
It wasn’t that Ito actually wanted to leave all her relatives screaming through her wedding. It was just that really, it was quite likely to happen anyway.
“Are you sure you want to?” Makoto asked, his face split into a wide grin even as he asked it.
“Hell, yeah!” Ito said cheerfully. “It’ll be different!”
“My Ito,” Makoto said and kissed her cheek. “You never quite grow up, do you?”
*
Of course, the bride wasn’t allowed to see the groom the night before the wedding. Ito and Makoto stayed with various siblings, keeping their wedding clothes well hidden from them. They didn’t want to spoil the surprise after all.
At 11:30, Ito heard the screams beginning. Smiling innocently, she walked in and spotted the beautiful “bride” at the front.
“ITO!” she heard three brothers shriek at the same time.
“Oh shut up,” she ordered, smoothing her jacket over her hips. “Mako always looked better in a dress than me, anyway.”
